My Many Hats

I am Amanda (Mandy)Wine, the wearer of many hats.  Each hat is special, even though they change with time.  Let's look at each hat I choose to wear.

All My Children + a dragon
Family Hat:  This hat is my biggest responsibility, and my most joyous.  I have a wonderful husband, Jim, who supports and encourages me in all of my endeavors.  I have four wonderful children:  Jenny (25 yrs), Daniel/Diana (23 yrs), Collin (16 yrs), and Rose (4 yrs).  They span a range of 21 years, and are the best of friends.

The family hat gets subdivided into the Help Me With Adulting Hat, the Boy Scout Troop Treasurer Hat, the Marching Band Mom Hat, the Of Course You Can Skydive Today Honey Hat, and the Preschool Mom Hat.

Myself Hat:  I love to read, crochet, hike, and camp.  Nature is the place to unwind and relax until winter, then I move to reading and crochet.  I am left-handed and that makes many things in every-day life "interesting".  Check this out.

Teacher Hat:  I started as a teaching assistant when my 2nd child started school.  I was bored, so started looking for a challenge.  I put on the Student Hat and earned my teaching certification through the career-switcher program in North Carolina.  I have been teaching middle school science for 12 years, the last 5 years in Virginia.  Middle school is a challenge and I love that every day and every child changes with the wind.  There is no such thing as "constant" with preteens.

Student Hat:  I am back at it!  Time to learn something valuable to help my students grow to their fullest potential.
